About Us

The South Burnett Pantry Inc. began in 2012, born from a shared concern for local families and individuals struggling with the rising cost of living. A small group of committed community members came together with borrowed fridges, freezers, trailers, and vehicles… but most importantly, with a big heart and a determination to help.

From these humble beginnings, The Pantry has grown into a trusted essential local service, providing affordable food relief to the South Burnett region. We exist to ease financial stress, but also to offer a listening ear and help people connect with health and welfare services when needed.

Our growth has been made possible thanks to successful grant applications and the generous backing of local council, businesses, churches, service groups, and individuals. We’re proud to operate on a cost-recovery model, with no government funding for food purchases, and the unwavering support of a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time each week to keep The Pantry running.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community — one trolley at a time.
